About

Barbecue AtlantaBBQ is a southern staple.  And there are thousands, if not millions, of variations of it.  From technique (Carolina, Eastern North Carolina, South Carolina, Memphis Style, KC Style, Texas Style), to spelling (barbecue, barbeque, Bar-b-q, BBQ, Q, Cue, etc.), everyone has their own opinion.  Bone Lick is no exception.

However, instead of trying to grab on to some interpretation, we focus on making BBQ that is delicious, and right on point, with Big Bold flavors, a decent amount of spice, and a rich, smoky flavor.  We are not from North Carolina, We are not from Kansas City, We are not from Texas, but we have been to all of those places and brought the best of the best techniques and flavors back here to Atlanta, Georgia, the place we are proud to call home…

History

Bone Lick BBQ started as a pop-up restaurant concept by Executive Chef Mike LaSage at P’cheen, on Monday Nights, in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. For one night a week, P’cheen transformed into a BBQ restaurant that quickly gained popularity in and out of the city. People driving from all over the greater Atlanta burbs to get a sampling of that delicious, smoky goodness. Atlanta Magazine named it #4 in the state and #1 in the city Limits. The sky was the limit. Bone Lick BBQ was on the map and plans were made!

The planning and building for Bone Lick BBQ was nearly 2 years in the making. West Midtown, it was decided, would be the new home of Bone Lick. An area already buzzing with great, high-end restaurants, the owners of Bone Lick, Mike LaSage, Keiran Neely + Alex Friedman, felt that West Midtown would be a great place to open a BBQ place with a heightened experience, all the while, maintaining a budget-friendly menu. Bone Lick’s new BBQ home in West Midtown is a fun, hip, great little spot that you can go to without having to save up for a night out!
